Pros & Cons
This monitor is absolutely amazing. Moving from the older 27inch 165hz 1440p monitor to this beast is crazy.
The Good:
-144hz native and 180hz using “over drive” in the monitor menu.
-1900R curve with 3440p is stunning.
-Amazing colour depth with the IPS panel.
-8 or 10bit
No bleed/backlight or any other issues.
- Fully compatible with G-sync. As it’s “adaptive sync” it may seem worrisome to jump from fully native to this, but I’ve seen no difference and it’s certified by Nvidia, no flashing or anything. I don’t know what it’s like for AMD cards, but adaptive sync SHOULD work for both.
-HDR 400 is a nice addition.
-The price! An IPS panel with high refresh and hdr for £999 compared to VA panel 144hz monitors for £800....an extra £199 and you get a massive jump!
The bad:
This monitor supports 10bit colour (enabled through Nvidia). However, you can only use 10bit colour if you keep the monitor at 144hz. If you use the 180hz overdrive, then you can only use 8bit. This is not a massive issue and the screen is stunning either way. I’m just being open and picky!
Lastly...if anyone here is worried about ordering this monitor for Amazon, do not threat. Amazon email you a one-time password to read to the driver upon delivery, so they won’t leave it at the door. Additionally, Amazon seem to have a good returns policy if any issues arise.
Overall, this is a steal for £999 and I would recommend getting your hands on this screen instead of buying a different monitor that uses a VA panel etc.
