Pros
I bought the 10600k from elsewhere as it was in stock (£285) - with 6 cores and 12 threads it has ample performance when left to stock speeds at the moment. I regularly see the turbo go up to 4.7GHz when needed. Gaming temps for me stay stable around 50c with a Corsair H115 rgb platinum cooler.
The CPU is some Intel marketing and essentially a mildly overclocked i7 8700k which itself is currently priced at £432! So like for like, this is better value when named an i5. The downside being you'll need a Z490 motherboard though.
I finally decided to upgrade my super sandy bridge 2600k of many years and immediately see the benefits in gaming with the 10600k paired with an rtx 2080. Gaming at 4k is super smooth, web browsing and applications open near instantly to give an all round impressive result. Yes other advances are contributing to this including faster memory and an m.2 drive.
Cons
Do yourself a favor and DO NOT buy it from this store. The product arrived with a damaged seal, the processor itself shows signs of use. Returned and never again Amazon for PC parts. I did a bit of research, Ebuysave is listed as an outlet store on Google. There's no need to tell you what's a "outlet shop". Sad part is that they advertise the processor as "new" when actually it isn't.
L.E. I received my money back, no problems here. But I'm surprised to see that now the same processor is sold by GLENMORANGIE, not by Ebuysave. And they claim that they are a company in Italy, I Google it and nothing came out, apart the fact that actually Glenmorangie is a distillery in Scotland. LOL.
