Costumers Product Reviews

Pros

First of all packaging is great and has a distinct premium feel and that expends to the board itself. Simply unpackaging it was a joy and made it clear this was a step above anything else I've had.

A lot of features that manufacturers sell their boards on end up being redundant or just plain gimmicky. To my astonishment this wasn't the case with this motherboard. with features literally helping me when I was having issues getting my system to post. This was the "EZ Debug LED" system that has an array of lights in an obvious location that light up on post letting you know how individual systems are, its split into CPU, RAM, GPU and BOOT. I was getting a red light on RAM and sure enough a re-seat later and we were off to the races. That was something that could have taken hours to resolve but was simplified thanks to the design of the motherboard. and don't worry the lights don't stay on after post so if you are worried about that don't be.

Speaking of: overall I was very happy with the layout of the board my only issue would be there being no fan header for the rear case fan within easy reach and I imagine you would have the same issue with any top mounted fans as the majority of them are all lined up at the bottom of the board. Which brings up onto the I/O.

The I/O has ports I didn't know existed before this thing turned up. But its al very clearly explained in the documentation that comes with it and the majority of it is optional like the RGB headers.

Normally I always select advanced options in the bios of a motherboard but they have pretty much made that redundant with the fantastic simplified mode you are greeted by when entering the bios. Everything I could have wanted was there and more importantly: MADE SIMPLE. Don't get me wrong the advanced option is still there but if you are just moving boot devices priority or applying a quick overclock they have you covered. There is even an option to test overclocking the timings on your memory with presets something that would be far beyond the majority of PC users. But here it's easy and accessible.

The board is absolutely solid when it comes to performance, I've run every test you can think of and its a true machine, never choked or halted.

So should you buy this board? Well if you are coming over to AMD from intel and looking at the new Ryzen line of processors (Which you should! They are Great! Even for gaming!) then this board perfectly balances features with simplicity and cost, and the inclusion of wi-fi is the cherry on top as far as i'm concerned for those times you can't get a wired connection in.

If your on the fence, go for it you won't be disappointed!

Cons

This is my review after 8 months of using this board.

It's never short of problems, until today it won't power up anymore(I tried everything disassembled two other PCs to swap parts).

- Often it would freeze during POST, this was improved a few months back MSI updated BIOS but problem still exists.

- You simply cannot OC any components, blue screen right away.

- otherwise it's fine, I've learnt to live with its quirks, until tonight it's completely DEAD.

Ef this.

Bought this because of faulty B450 Tomahawk, which had BSOD frequently,

This plus faulty 144hz monitor that wake itself from sleep.

I'm NEVER BUYING ANY MSI product ever again!

You've been warned, don't trust all the reviews online,

I've never had these many problems all in one setup and fault parts all MSI craps making want to through the whole thing out of window. All the previous PCs I've built never had any problem.
