About this item
The next generation of PlayStation is finally here with the arrival of the PS5. This generation, it seems like Sony is sticking with the approach that made the PS4 so successful: sell consoles that can play first-party games from Sony’s storied franchises, and supplement that lineup with great third-party titles, too. You should expect to see better graphics in your games, and the PS5 will also support high refresh rates, which should make games feel smoother (if you have a display that supports those refresh rates). Plus, the PS5’s custom SSD promises to offer such a leap forward in loading speeds that it could change the way games are designed.

Pros & Cons
The Good:
• A huge generational leap over PS4 (roughly 6x more powerful than PS4, 3xPS4 Pro)
• Controller's haptic feedback and adaptive triggers are wildly engaging and entertaining
• Proprietary SSD makes for extremely fast loading of games and assets
• Ray-tracing support in some titles is a truly 'next-gen' feature for consoles (but barely any examples on launch)
• Fan noise is significantly less than all PS4 variants (especially at max fan speed)
• UI offers some incredible QoL improvements which allows for unique options (booting directly into specific levels/modes)*
(• PS Plus users have access to the PS Plus Collection, offering numerous PS4 classics for no additional fee (GoW, Bloodbourne, etc)
The Bad:
• ~670GB of usable storage (games are roughly same data size as PS4)
• No additional M.2 SSD support on launch
• *The UI is pretty and powerful, but convoluted and awkward to navigate compared to PS4
• Size and shape of console might be a pain for those with small and/or organised set-ups.
Both versions box contents:
• PS5 console
• Console stand (required for horizontal use)
• 1x DualSense wireless controller x1
• 1x HDMI 2.1 cable (ultra high speed-40Gbps)
• 1x USB-C charging cable
• AC power cable (no 'brick')
• Paperwork (manual, set-up, etc)
